Air Handling | EHEDG Working Group Update

Last week, senior members of the EHEDG Air Handling Working Group gathered for a productive session, with participants from diverse locations. The meeting facilitated meaningful discussions and concrete action plans for the future of air handling in the industry.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Nitin Mehta (Cargill) as the new Chair, and David Stewart (Halton Group) as Co-Chair. Their leadership will be key as we move forward with new initiatives and improvements.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the decision to initiate a comprehensive update to Guideline 47, ensuring it reflects current industry needs. The updated guideline will include enhanced guidance on defining User Requirement Specifications (URS), a more comprehensive Risk-Based Approach methodology, expanded references to international codes and regulations, and improved graphical content for better clarity and accessibility. These changes will ensure the guideline remains a valuable resource for industry professionals.

With the goal of finalizing the updated guideline by the end of 2025, the working group has scheduled monthly meetings to ensure steady progress. We’re excited to continue this important work and will share more updates as we move forward.

A big thank you to the Chair, Co-Chair, and all the members who contributed to the meeting’s success: Christian Sommer (Novonesis), Corinne Begueria (Groupe-bel), Patrick Wouters (Cargill), Alessandro Junqueira Pereira (Lactalis), and Frans Saurwalt (Kropman).
