EHEDG Valves Working Group Face-to-Face Meeting
The EHEDG Valves Working Group recently came together for an engaging and highly productive two-day face-to-face meeting. The session was packed with interactive discussions, expert insights, and strategic planning to drive innovation in hygienic valve design.
Diving into Feedback: Guideline 20 & 65
A major highlight of the meeting was the in-depth review of Guideline 20, "Hygienic Design and Safe Use of Mixproof Valves," which is set for publication soon. The group also addressed key feedback on Guideline 65, "Sampling Systems for Representative Liquid Sampling," ensuring that both guidelines meet the highest industry standards before their release.
Exciting Developments: Aseptic Barrier Valves
The Working Group explored the possibility of introducing a brand-new guideline focused on Aseptic Barrier Valves. The discussions centered on defining its scope, setting performance benchmarks, and identifying key functional specifications. The goal? To kick off the drafting process by the second quarter of 2025 and shape the future of aseptic valve technology.
What’s Next?
Looking ahead, the next face-to-face meeting is scheduled for June 23-24, 2025, complemented by a series of online meetings throughout the year to maintain momentum. Another exciting development is the planned revision of Guideline 14, "Requirements for Valves in Hygienic and Aseptic Processes," last updated in 2020, ensuring it stays aligned with the latest advancements in the field.
